Stitched Gift Card Holder

Teachers love and appreciate homemade goodies and treats, but nothing says "Thanks" like a gift card or cash!  Here's a fun way to deliver a little appreciation to the teacher....

Supplies:

School Themed patterned paper
1 ¼” circle punch
adhesive
Sewing machine (optional)
A gift card or folded cash
Not pictured: paper trimmer, scoring tool

Steps:
Cut a strip from the Malmero Perle' Yellow that measures 3 x 11".  Cut two pieces from patterned paper, each of them measuring 2 3/4 x 3 3/4".

Score the long strip of cardstock at 4" and again at 8 1/4".
Using the circle hole punch, cut a half circle out the short end of one of the patterned paper rectangles.  Try to center the punch from side to side.
Attach this piece on the center section of the long strip of yellow cardstock.  This can be attached using strong adhesive on the very outer edge of 3 sides, or using a sewing machine, stitch the paper in place.
On the front cover, attach the other patterned paper piece.  Since I stitched mine inside, I also stitched the piece on the front to continue the look.
Slip in the gift card.... it will tuck nicely in the pocket we created.
Fold the short side over.  This would be a nice place to add a handwritten message, or stamp your favorite "Thank You" sentiment.
And there you have it.... a quick and easy way to deliver a much deserved appreciation gift!
