It's All About Mother

Hello Everyone!

Lee Ann here, back with a project just in time for Mom.  I used some Basis cardstock, Neenah Crest Solar White cardstock, and some dies plus a fun technique to make your cards the shape of die cuts.

To start, fold your Neenah Crest Solar White 7 x 10 piece of cardstock in half, so that your cardstock is now 7 x 5.  Place your die (Spellbinders) over the folded cardstock, being sure to let the edge of the die at the fold hang over the edge (otherwise, you will have 2 separate die cuts instead of a folded card).

Your end result should look like this~

Sometimes the die does not cut all the way through and you have to trim the shape by hand, or, as in this case, I opened up the card and die cut the bottom layer, being careful not to cut all the way to the folded edge so as to keep the card intact instead of  cut into two pieces.

Now cut a single layer of the Neenah Crest Solar White cardstock from the same shape.  You will use this shape to adhere on top of your folded card.  This will cover up the unfinished folde edge.

I have not popped all of the pieces out of the die cut in this above example, but it is a complete die cut.  Your end result will look like this~

Now you can cut your layer of Dark Purple from your Basis paper pack

Adhere the purple layer to the card front.  Cut a piece of Neenah Crest Solar White cardstock with Mother die (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps).  adhere this layer to the Dark Purple layer, popping it up on 3D Double Sided Foam Adhesive for dimension.

Now you are ready to make your flowers.  Stamp a flower image (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps) on Neenah Solar White cardstock.  Cut along the white lines of the image to make a swirl that you can roll up.

Using a quilling tool, roll up your flower.

When you finish rolling your flower, remove it from the quilling tool and let the rolled flower relax a bit.

Secure your flower by using a Glue Dot on the base of the flower.

Now you can finish cutting your other die cuts- branches/twigs and leaves. I used Basis Olive cardstock for my leaves and Basis Light Brown for my branches.
My little flowers are made using Basis Purple cardstock and a punch (Stampin' Up).  After the shape is punched, it is molded, using a ball tip stylus and piercing mat.

Assemble the rest of the card, adding the embellishments.  I added glitter to my flower edges for some sparkle.

Flower centers were added to the little purple flowers with tiny pearls.

And there is your finished card for Mom!

Wishing all of you Moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day!
