Yummy Treat Tag

This month kicks off the holiday season for me.  I love getting in the spirit with Halloween, and before I know it, I'm decorating for Thanksgiving and Christmas!  I think Halloween is the perfect excuse to make some tasty treats and get crafty with the packaging and tags.  Here's what I've whipped up for today:

With Flavours Gourmet cardstock on sale this month, it's a great time to stock up on all the rich, tasty colors!  Can't decided which one? Then grab a sampler pack and try them all!

The base of this tag is die cut from Smoked Sea Salt.  I embossed the spider web with clear embossing powder after I cut it out.

For the sentiment tag, I decided to stamp and heat emboss it first, on Squid Ink cardstock using white embossing powder.  Then, to die cut it precisely, I held the thin die in place with a bit of washi tape as I ran it through my die cut machine.

For my little spider friend, I stamped him with black ink and painstakingly cut him out. I decided he was a little flat and boring, so I topped him off with black enamel accents and set aside overnight to dry.

I wanted to add a pop of color, so I hand cut a banner piece from Vino Cotto, which is a gorgeous purple.  I couldn't resist adding a little bling with a light coat from the Wink of Stella pen, in Clear Glitter. I am so in love with these pens!

Then, I just assembled all my pieces. For one final addition, I added a few little black gems that I ended up throwing in my basket the other day at the craft store while I was standing in line.  Am I the only one who gets sucked into those $1 items they place there to entice you?

What tricks or treats will you be making this month?  We'd love to hear from you so share a comment!

  1. Thanks Alexia! It is super easy to make too.... a bunch of these might make their way into the classroom this year.
