Today is my last scheduled posting here and I would like the thank the CutCardStock shop for allowing me to use the CCS products for the past six months, Cindy Crots, Owner of the Company, and Amber Lawrence, DT Coordinator.. It is certainly appropriate that for my project today I have made a THANK YOU card for all of you!! I have used some of my favorite cardstocks: the white is Curious Metallic Ice Gold and the green is Stardream Metallic Emerald. For the flowers I used Magnolia layered flowers and to add more interest and dimension, I have used a wee technique which I think adds so much to many of our punched, die cut, or hand cut flowers. I have merely burnished the backs of the petals using small circles using a ball stylus and on the front just a press of the ball in the center of each flower. Below you will see what difference this step can make. On the left side are the flat flowers and leaves and on the right side are the flowers and leaves after burnishing.
You can see what tools I have used but you could do the same technique with any small rounded implement (handle of a knife,round end of a pen or marker, etc). For the leaves I used one press with a narrow tool on the back. Just remember to start with small circles and you will be an expert in no time. Following is a side view which will hopefully show the dimensional difference.
To finish my card I added a sweet sentiment, a silk bow, and a few pearls.
