Sunny Autumn Thank You Card

Thank you cards are always great to have on hand, and I like keep them simple so that I can use them for many different types of people.  At the same time, it's fun to make them seasonal too, so today I'm sharing a sunny autumn thank you card with just a touch of elegance thanks to beautifully-textured Royal Sundance Cardstock.

Start by trimming a piece of Royal Sundance Natural Felt Cardstock to 10" x 7" and score it at 5" to form a top-folding 5" x 7" card.  Next, trim pieces of Burgundy and Eclipse Black Linen Cardstock to 4.75" x 6.75" and 4.875" x 6.875", respectively (this leaves a one-sixteenth border around the edge when layered).

Die-cut nested oval shapes out of the Burgundy and Eclipse Black layers, ensuring that the dies are centered and that the larger oval is used to die-cut the Burgundy piece.

Using the scrap die-cuts from the last step, cut burgundy and black "thank you" layers with a pretty sentiment die.  Use Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the layers together slightly offset, forming a subtle shadow.

Stamp layered sunflower images onto Neenah Classic Crest Natural White Cardstock with a variety of yellow, orange, and brown inks.  I tested a couple of different inks for these images and chose the brighter result, but the muted version would work well too if that appeals to you more!

Die-cut all of the sunflower images with a coordinating die or fussy-cut them out by hand.  Even though I knew which flowers I was going to use for this card, I decided to save the leftovers for another project.

Assemble the card base by adhering the black layer directly to the Ivory Felt Cardbase with tape runner.  Tie a natural jute bow around the corners of the burgundy frame and adhere the piece on top using foam squares for a little dimension.  I also stamped a tiny layered bee on the front to add a little interest.

Finish the card off by adhering the layered sentiment inside the frame with liquid glue and popping the die-cut sunflowers up around the bottom of the frame with foam tabs.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and simple autumn thank you card made with tons of beautifully-textured cardstock from the CutCardStock storeRoyal Sundance Cardstock is on sale this month, so be sure to grab some for an elegant addition to those handmade cards!
