Minimalist Heart Pattern "Hello" Card Design

For today's card design I decided to use minimal supplies and Distress Oxide inks to create a card I could send to anyone, whenever I am thinking of them!

Starting with Classic Linen White Pearl cut to A2 card size, I chose two small heart stamps from sets I have in my stash that mostly cater to planner needs. When creating your own patterned paper, it's good to stick to simple shapes in various sizes. That way there is variety to the pattern as you stamp.

I chose Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, and Wild Honey. Starting with the larger heart, I stamped in each color and tried to keep the number to an uneven amount as it tends to help maintain visual balance.

The bold Distress Oxides worked really well with the pearlescent shimmer of the linen card stock. The stamping was not perfect, but the imperfections are what give it charm!

Be careful when stamping with Distress Oxides especially on coated papers as they are a pigment-dye hybrid and can take some time to dry. Definitely recommend hitting your design with a heat gun before handling.

I created a sentiment banner by cutting a rectangular piece of Bazzill Rose Gold Foil and a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White so that the rose gold was framing the piece on top and bottom. I also used an ink blender to ink up the strip of white with Seedless Preserves, that way it matched easily.

Once everything was assembled on the Cougar White card base using a Bazzill adhesive runner, I used a Molotow white paint pen to write the word "hello" in captial letters, then added black shadowing to the letters with a fine line pen.

Simple, cute, and fun - a card to send to anyone you love.

Thanks so much for following along.
